Plans to take cash from the renovation of Marischal College to repair Aberdeen’s crumbling roads have been passed.
Officers at Aberdeen City Council have been asked to draw up lists of roads most in need of repair after a committee agreed to top up the roads’ budget by £2.5 million for this year.
The cash has been taken from budget reserves in the project to turn the historic Marischal College into Aberdeen City Council’s new headquarters.
Cllr Kate Dean, convener of the enterprise, planning and infrastructure committee, and council leader John Stewart had come up with the plan after complaints about the state of Aberdeen’s roads.
What do you think? Is this a good use of this money?
