Before I joined, I was concerned that I would come across a group of women who were not really serious about their businesses and were just using it as a way of meeting new people and having lovely lunches! I had experienced that type of group before and found it degrading and frustrating. However, I soon realsed that WIBN is not such a group, and everyone I met really were 'women in business'. They are all relevant business women who are open and direct about what they are looking for and how they can work together. The WIBN network is a major source of referrals for my business and is an essential part of my marketing initiative. I would encourage any professional businesswoman to visit a WIBN group wherever possible. The Hitchin group members cover a wide variety of professions and would welcome visitors to their meetings. Increasingly people are sourcing business and services from people they know and therefore naturally turn to their network contacts. I find this the most cost effective, yet enjoyable, way of growing my business with genuine referrals from members.
