Autotorque Race Developments, the brainchild of owner, Jay Whitbread, came into being after Jay experienced a bad car accident on the Horseshoe Pass in June 2002, Jay and his vehicle finishing some 400 feet below the road.
With 6 months recuperation time to fill Jay worked out his plan to turn his motoring hobby into his profession. Premises were found in Coedpoerth and Autotorque was born.
As a serious exponent of Drag Racing, performance engine tuning and servicing were the starting points. Expert tuning by Autotorque will bring every vehicle to its optimum performance. Deisel owners are specifically catered for as significant improvements can be made to virtually all diesel engined motors.

The Autotorque services have proved so popular that Jay has moved to larger premises on the Alyn Ind Est on Mold Road.
Over the years Jay has increased his team of specialists and they offer a service that is second to none.
Drag Racing is the passion from which Autotorque developed. Preparing a vehicle to cover ¼ mile in under 8 seconds from a standing start needs supreme mechanical skill, and a driver with steely nerves.
The Autotorque Race Team, consisting of Jay and two other drivers, are the current holders of Fastest Estate Vehicle UK.
They are 3rd ranked in the UK the Turbo Street Legal Vehicle Class.
4th ranked in Drifting in the UK.
A visit to Santa Pod on race day will demonstrate the thrills that this sport generates.
