The sculptures of Richard Sefton, one of Worcester’s most prolific sculptors, are internationally renowned and his sculptures are collected throughout the world. He is particularly popular in the U.S. where he is best known for his beautiful equine sculptures.
Richard has enjoyed an illustrious career spanning four decades. During that time, he has produced an extensive and impressive range of highly acclaimed sculptures.
Born in Malvern, Worcestershire, Richard was educated at the Lyttelton School before going on to train as an architect. He became a professional sculptor in 1975 securing an impressive list of commissions from many countries. He is now highly regarded as one of the finest sculptors Worcestershire has ever produced.
One of the talented sculptors major sculptures is that of a Samurai warrior, which was catalogued by the Victoria and Albert Museum and is now on permanent display at the Kyoto Museum in Tokyo, just one of Richard Seftons many accolades. The accomplished sculptor also collaborated with the internationally acclaimed artist David Shepherd.
Recently Richard has modeled a spectacular rodeo rider sculpture, which was presented to former President George H. W. Bush.
