Established in 1988, Burnett Nursery school in Bank Quay, Warrington, is a small, privately owned nursery school for children aged 2 to 5 years.
As a nursery school with excellent Ofsted reports, Burnett Nursery offers a happy and relaxed environment, with a well-balanced structure and imaginative curriculum to enable children to learn and play together in confidence.
Good manners and social skills are encouraged at all times and parents are both supportive and appreciative of the efforts made.
Location
Burnett Nursery is located in a secure, spacious old school building off Thewlis Street in Warrington.
When you enter the nursery, you will immediately appreciate the warm and homely atmosphere created by our staff and children.
Staff
Burnett Nursery is run by the Principal, Mrs Olive Higginson, who takes a keen involvement in the welfare and education of all of the children in her care.
All nursery staff are very well qualified and full time, with a good blend of maturity and youth. The supervisor, Angela Brindley, also has a professional qualification in special needs.
A specialist dance teacher attends the nursery several times a week to teach "music and movement" sessions in the large hall.
Facilities
Being located in an old school building gives Burnett Nursery the advantage of space and flexibility. There is also a large hall which is used for physical exercises and music and movement sessions.
Children are never confined to age related rooms and have supervised access to the whole building throughout the day.
The children enjoy the pleasant, secluded garden most days, but if the weather is too bad for outside play, then the large hall may be used so that the children have good physical exercise.
The "icing on the cake" is the healthy, home made food made on the premises by an excellent Cook. All dietary needs are catered for and all of the food, with the exception of milk, is bought from Sainsburys.
Opening Times
Burnett Nursery offers flexible opening times for working parents. Normal nursery opening times run from 8:30am to 5:30pm, however, the nursery opens at 8:00am to 6:00pm for those parents who wish an extended day.
The nursery is open all year round except for Bank holidays and two weeks over the Christmas period.
