VOTE NOW FOR YOUR BEST RURAL RETAILER...

www.bestruralretailer.co.uk

The Countryside Alliance’s third annual Best Rural Retailer competition is showcasing the range of enterprise, produce and community spirit of the South East – and there is still time to nominate!

The Best Rural Retailer competition aims to celebrate our rural communities through the retailers who work so hard to promote them and keep them together, and local retailers are showing their true colours yet again.

The nomination categories are:
1. Best Local Food Retailer
2. Best Village Shop/ Post Office
3. Best Diversification
4. Best Traditional Business

To date, the dozens of nominations for the South East have included the “first class” Crockshards Farm Shop at Wingham in Kent and the “traditional, top quality” 1066 butchers in Battle, East Sussex,

South East Regional Director Michelle Nudds commented: “The South East is once again seizing the chance to celebrate its produce and people, so if you haven’t nominated yet there is still plenty of time. We want to tell the good-news stories of the region and give our retailers a boost by applauding them through this popular national competition. With dwindling services and communities under threat there has never been a better time to unite and show the whole country the grit, determination and warmth of our communities”.

· Nominate online at www.bestruralretailer.co.uk until 6th October
· Regional winners will be announced before Christmas
· Overall national winners will be declared at the House of Lords in February 2008

    What are RSS Feeds?

RSS feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines and stories in one place, as soon as they are published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.

How do I start using feeds?

In general, the first thing you need is something called a feed reader. This is a piece of software that checks the feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added. There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications. IE 7.0 has a good feed reader built in, otherwise try Feedreader.
