Experience
Don Lambert has been living and working as a photographer in Stamford for 18 years, following a stint as a photographer in the RAF and a period as head of Scene of Crime Photography in the police force. This has given him the experience of photography in all kinds of situations, and has ensured his success here in Stamford.
Don enjoys all aspects of the photography business, and will always try and go for the creative approach so that he can create something different for everyone’s photos.
He says that he’s been in photography since he was 16 and can’t imagine doing anything else, as he loves what he’s doing – and what’s more he gets paid for it.
Style
When taking portrait photos or wedding photos, Don’s aim is to make everyone relaxed so that the photographs will reflect an informality that is sometimes lacking in more formal photos. He really enjoys taking family photos, and children’s portrait photos as well as wedding photos, but he does a lot of work for CV’s and models portfolios. Don treats every client as an individual, and his best compliment is when his client says ‘you made us feel special, and we enjoyed the whole shooting session.’
His ideal day consists of two or three family portrait photos followed by a flying job where he has to photograph a site from the air.

Don not only takes portrait photos and wedding photos, he is also a commercial photographer and has recently become interested in photo art photography, where he feels that he can create ‘something out of nothing’ which is timeless, and can be put on someone’s wall as an art piece.
