Tim Smith gives a talk, illustrated with fascinating photographs, based on his book entitled:
Coal, Frankincense and Myrrh - Yemen and British Yemenis
Talk starts at 2.00pm
Thousands of years of trade along its coasts, mountains and deserts have made Yemen a cosmopolitan meeting point for people, goods, gods, money and ideas.
Yemeni sailors and traders settled all over the world and laid the foundations of Britain's longest established Muslim community.
Tim Smith tells the extraordinary story of these sailors and their fascinating country.
This event is held in collaboration with Museum§heffield.
