Heritage Guided Tour of Garden
Sheffield Botanical Gardens cover 19 acres and were first opened in 1836.
Originally designed by Robert Marnock in the Gardenesque style, the site now has fifteen different garden areas featuring collections of plants from all over the world, including Mediterranean, Asian, American prairie-style, woodland and rock-and-water plantings.
Three National Collections, of Weigelas, Diervillas and Sarcococa are sited here.
The Gardens contain several listed buildings including the restored Grade ll* listed curvilinear Glass Pavilions, some of the earliest ever built.
Entry from Clarkehouse Road and Ecclesall Road

Heritage Open Days celebrates England’s architecture and culture by allowing visitors free access to interesting properties that are either not usually open, or would normally charge an entrance fee.
Heritage Open Days also includes tours, events and activities that focus on local architecture and culture.
