The Sheffield Fire & Police Museum is the largest, volunteer run, museum of its kind in the UK.
On display at the old Victorian Police and Fire Station in Sheffield is a fine collection of both ancient and modern Fire engines, with fascinating displays from the 18th Century to the modern day.
Amongst the many exhibits displayed over three floors at the popular museum in Sheffield are Victorian brass helmets to state of the art breathing apparatus, together with photographs and documents from the past.
At the museum in Sheffield there are many exciting hands on exhibits for the children and educational school visits and they can even take a ride on a fire engine. Fireman Sam is a regular visitor to the museum in Sheffield.
The Sheffield Fire & Police Museum has a classroom set aside specifically for school visits and other interested groups that may wish to use the museums study facilities.
The Museum is open to the general public every Sunday and bank holiday throughout the year, from 11.00am to 5.00pm.
The Museum is supported by donations and entry ticket sales.
