Sheffield Cathedral is Sheffield's oldest building and the heart of this historic city.
Most people will be aware of the many spiritual and community activities continuously organised by Sheffield Cathedral ( detailed on www.sheffield-cathedral.org.uk ).
Not so well known is the charity work central to the Cathedral's mission to provide service to the most vulnerable in Sheffield.
Charity work and fund raising
Key to the Cathedral's work with the homeless in Sheffield is the Cathedral Breakfast and Archer Project ( CBA ), a charitable organisation with the aim of addressing the needs of those who are disadvantaged.
The CBA offers food and a central base of facilities and training / learning facilities. Partner organisations work with homeless people to offer practical help.
Charitable organisations rely on fund raising and donations to continue and improve the charity work undertaken.
The CBA has been awarded the Queen's Jubilee award for its charity work, this work is part of the mission of Sheffield Cathedral. The Cathedral is actively engaging with people who are excluded from society.
