The Star Donor Run
Adults and children from across South Yorkshire are being urged to lace up their trainers and sign up for The Star Donor Run, which is part of the British Transplant Games, which take place in Sheffield this year on the 7th to 10th August.
By signing up for The Star Donor Run people from all walks of life can personally get involved in the Games. Children and adults can take part in either a 3km or a 5km run around Don Valley Stadium. You can also jog or walk the distances if you want too. You have to be over 13 years old to take part in the 5km run.
Latest figures show as many as 401 people in the Sheffield region are waiting for a transplant. In 2007 some 23 organ donors in Sheffield saved the lives of 74 people.
