Kingston Rotary Club's annual Dragon boat racing event in aid of charity Born too Soon, with a range of entertainment on dry land to keep spectators of all ages busy throughout the day.

Annual Dragon Boat Challenge

Every year on a Sunday in July something begins to stir in the water. This is the great day of Dragon boat racing where Kingston's Rotary Club hold their annual event on the Thames at Canbury Gardens, Kingston in aid of the charity Born Too Soon.

The event gets bigger each year and last year attracted the most entrants so far in it's four-year history, 33 crews of between 12-16 members plus a drummer.

The day had a carnival atmopshere throughout with the crews sporting fancy dress and headgear. Teams with zany names such as Tequila Slammers and Hawaii-Wino-O's certainly kept the spectators entertained, the bouncy castles kept the kids busy, and the refreshment tent, BBQ and Boaters Inn ensured energy levels were topped-up all day.

This year's Dragon Boat challenge will take place on the 20th July.

What are RSS Feeds?

RSS feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines and stories in one place, as soon as they are published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.

How do I start using feeds?

In general, the first thing you need is something called a feed reader. This is a piece of software that checks the feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added. There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications. IE 7.0 has a good feed reader built in, otherwise try Feedreader.
