In celebration of moving to new 10,000 square feet of premises, TASS Enterprise hosted a charity fundraiser at their Mead Lane warehouse with more than 70 local business customers, suppliers, family and staff in attendance.

They raised more than £450 at their celebration event on Thursday, September 20th, 2012 through raffle prize ticket sales and justgiving donations. Hertford Mayor, Councillor, Miss Jane Sartin attended the special event last week to officially mark the occasion together with Charles Lewis, Chairman of Isabel Hospice and The Mayor’s Consort Honorary Alderman, Mr John Sartin.

TASS – Transport and Storage Solutions – was launched by Hertford businesswoman Lynn Bound in 2007. Originally based at Monks Green Farm on the outskirts of Hertford the company has grown so significantly over the years that Lynn recently relocated it to a 10,000 square feet modern warehouse in Merchant Drive, Mead Lane, Hertford.

TASS offers a courier, storage and UK/mainland Europe distribution service to small and medium sized businesses. Lynn Bound, TASS Managing Director commented,

“I thought it would be lovely to mark our move with an evening of entertainment for new and existing clients and at the same time raise funds for Isabel Hospice. We are very grateful to all those who supported us at the event and to those who bought raffle tickets and made a donation to Isabel Hospice. We were honoured to have The Mayor with us and Isabel Hospice's Chairman. Thanks go to all our sponsors, volunteers and local businesses who provided generous raffle prizes. The positive feedback from our clients and staff has been overwhelming.”

Isabel Hospice is a registered charity which provides free care and support for patients and their families living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses throughout eastern Hertfordshire. The population they serve is almost 350,000 people.

Founded in 1982 the Hospice provides a wide range of services including a 16 bed In-Patient Hospice in Welwyn Garden City, four Day Care Service locations in Welwyn Garden City, Bishop’s Stortford, Hoddesdon and Waltham Cross, a Home Care Team providing support and nursing care in patients’ homes, and a Family Support and Bereavement Service.

Isabel Hospice’s services are free of charge, and the cost of providing these services is budgeted at £4.5 million in 2012. Of this, they need to raise around £3 million from charitable sources.

The September 20th evening event offered visitors the chance to enjoy complimentary wine tasting with local firm wine2laydown.com, be entertained with live music by jazz quartet ‘Afinado’ and support local charity Isabel Hospice by purchasing raffle tickets, making cash donations or, as indeed as many local businesses did – donate a prize. Donations came from Stevenage Football Club, Paradise Wildlife Park, East Herts Electrics, Ashbourne Insurance, The Posy Palace, Loch Fyne and The Roebuck Hotel to name a few. Generous sponsors for the evening included: The Sugarsmith, wine2laydown.com, Coaching Dynamics, Atec Printers who donated printing services; and Paul and Rachel Morgan of Morgan James captured all the special moments on camera.
