I had recently moved into my house and it needed some redecorating. I didnât have any ideas at all. My lounge/diner, although it is quite a large room, looked like two separate corridors. I had already repainted the lounge in Jasmine white to cover up the battleship grey that the previous owner had used, before I met Catriona. I was a bit nervous about having an interior designer as I wasnât sure exactly what to expect. I hadnât used one before and I didnât know anyone who had. My first meeting with Catriona was about my likes and dislikes, I didnât think Iâd been very helpful, but Catriona did manage to extract some useful information from me. The room is north facing and I wanted warm colours in it. The next meeting Catriona brought some ideas that she had put together based on our last meeting. One of the ideas was about moving the furniture around, I have now done this and the room looks much better even from such a simple change. We then went through books filled with different types of wall paper and materials. As someone who can never make up their mind about what I do and donât like I was quite surprised that I had strong views over the wall paper and materials. Much easier in your own home than in a store! I had a lovely time rummaging through all of the books, found some gorgeous material and lovely wall paper. We had a look at the matching paint too. Catriona then sent me my mood boards and lots of written ideas, for other furniture, how to hang the curtains depending which type I got, even down to the style of my new back door.
