Oxford City has 2 main areas where regular markets are held. Firstly there is the permanent market in the very centre of town - Oxford Covered Market and secondly nearby Gloucester Green hosts 3 days of differently themed markets each week. Additionally there are several localised out-of-town weekly farmers' markets.

This year the Museum of Oxford celebrates its 40 years in the town hall.
To mark this exciting period we are launching a 40:40 project - forty things for forty years. We want the people of Oxford and all partners and businesses to help us find 40 things that you think are exclusively Oxford. Anything that inspires, fascinates, provokes or intrigues you about Oxford. It could be pictures, objects, stories, places, interesting facts, films almost anything goes!

We are an Oxfordshire based local food co-operative. We grow fruit and veg on our farm in Little Wittenham, work with other local ecological and organic producers, and sell direct to customers. We are working to create a better food system for Oxford and have recently opened an online shop where you can order some of the best local produce, sourced from small independent local producers. 12,000 people used the pool last year in the four short months for which it was open. The council are representing the pool as a burden, but you cannot measure the value of a public asset in pounds and pence. What value can you put on the civic identity of Abingdon, living by the river, playing by the river? What value on the mental and physical wellbeing afforded by splashing about outdoors? What value on the happy memories of days out with the family enjoying the pool, the park, the relaxed atmosphere?
Green Homes Together, with the support of 15 local authorities across Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire and Berkshire, are offering residents up to 100% funding towards loft and cavity wall insulation as part of a wider scheme aimed at improving the warmth and comfort of homes.
