New Officers in charge: University of Plymouth Students’ Union

The University of Plymouth Students’ Union (UPSU) has elected a new President and four Sabbatical Officers for the 2008/09 academic year.

The Students’ Union President - Darren Jones; Deputy President - Aleshia Sampson, Vice President Education & Welfare Officer - Alison Smith, Vice President Activities & Communications Officer - James Redfearn and Sports Officer - Chris Rees, will represent The University of Plymouth’s 30,000 students across its campuses and network of partner colleges.

Darren Jones, who will graduate from The University of Plymouth with a degree in The Human Biosciences, said: "As the new President of the Students’ Union I want to ensure that our members not only gain the full student experience and representation that UPSU can provide but that we move forward in improving our relations with the community and the City, whilst being at the forefront of debate in the student movement at the University of Plymouth."

The Official handover ceremony starts at 1.00pm in the Students’ Union on the 14th July. Members of the press are invited to attend. Please contact Tracy Priestman on 01752 588388 to confirm your attendance.

What are RSS Feeds?
