Oxford’s Ashmolean Museum was completed in 1683 and is officially the oldest museum in Great Britain.
The Ashmolean Museum professionally displays thousands of exhibits within its galleries including the: Antiquities Gallery covering Palaeolithic to Victorian times, a Cast Gallery featuring many casts of ancient Greek and Roman sculptures, an Eastern Art Gallery with collections from China, India, Tibet and Japan, the Heberden Coin & Medal Gallery a must for all numismatics and the Western Gallery which houses various metal work, ceramics, glass and print collections.

- Tuesday - Saturday 10am - 5pm
- Sunday - 12pm - 5pm
- Bank Holidays - 10am - 5pm
June, July & August the museum stays open until 7pm on Thursdays.
Closed 24th, 25th, 26th and 1st Christmas and New Year. Also closed 3rd, 4th and 5th September for Oxford's St Giles fair.
