The Swan at Choppington, near Morpeth, Northumberland, continues to build on its excellent reputation for its food and accommodation.

A family-owned hotel, restaurant, and pub, where owners Kirsty & Chris Stevens take true pride in their restaurant, with an extensive menu of both familiar pub food and daily specials - serving the Morpeth area and Northumberland.

Freshly prepared and cooked top quality local food

Pub food highlights include:

  • Steak - in 6 different sauces
  • Lamb shank
  • Chicken Fajitas
  • The Swan Sausage
  • Homemade chilli
  • Grilled salmon topped with prawns

As well as the "old favourites", have introduced more "light" options for a pub meal lunch - jacket potatoes, burgers, quiche, sandwiches.
 
The evening menu has also had a revamp with several new dishes.

The restaurant, pub, and rooms were fully refurbished in October 2006.

Our regular Friday night haunt. The food is always excellent, and the specials menu has contained some outstanding dishes over the last year. The warm and friendly welcome from Chris and Kirsty always makes for an enjoyable evening.

A really nice meal in a really nice atmosphere. My wife and I ate at the Swan on Tuesday evening and I would highly recommend the food - the lamb shank was especially tasty and the Theakstons was to go back for, or for more. Well done The Swan!

I ate here last night with a group of friends - we all greatly enjoyed it. Excellent friendly service. Lovingly-prepared beautiful food - I thoroughly recommend the Chicken Fajitas.

This pub used to be one of my regular haunts until Peter abd Willie Swan left. I am so pleased it is back in the family, Kirsty and Chris are building a quality venue with a homely atmosphere. I wish them continued success in everything they do.

I have stayed here for over one year now normally 4 nights a week. The staff are so friendly, the food is exceptional and you get a personnal touch that just isnʼt possible in large hotels. Itʼs also quite and ideal for meeting work related people.,
