Recruitment agencies to brace themselves for competitive 2007

A more competitive year could be in store for recruitment agencies in 2007, research from Plimsoll's Portfolio Analysis of recruitment agencies suggests.
Due to a third of the 1,000 recruiters it monitored witnessing a slide in sales, Plimsoll has made its assertion, underlining a trend of a limited number of firms creaming the profits and seeing the growth.
Senior analyst at Plimsoll, David Pattison, remarked: "I see growth slowing in the coming 12 months although still above 5 per cent with the small group of market leaders again capturing the lion’s share and the others increasingly playing catch-up."
The report emphasised the fact that recruitment agencies had failed to react to market changes quickly enough and so were now finding themselves behind other firms.
Plimsoll offers portfolio analysis for industries on request and they are used by businesses to identify strengths and weaknesses of both themselves and competitors.
