Hotels in Yorkshire had a mixed September, according to the latest figures from business advisor PKF.
Leeds' hotels saw a ten per cent increase in occupancy while hotels in Sheffield saw a 10.5 per cent decrease.
Sheffield's occupancy rate for the month dropped to 73 per cent while Leeds' jumped up to a massive 82.2 per cent, a 10.3 per cent increase on comparable figures from last year.
Last year, a decline in occupancy was blamed on over-supply but this year it appears hotels in Leeds got the fine balance between supply and demand correct.
Meanwhile, local business leaders, including hoteliers, met to discuss plans on how to make Yorkshire more attractive to visitors and to help it compete against the rest of the world.
Organised by the Learning Skills Council, business leaders were able to quiz local council officials on plans for the area and how they see it developing.
