A hotel formerly frequented by famous poet Dylan Thomas is being sold by Men Behaving Badly star Neil Morrissey – just two years after he bought it.
Browns Hotel in south Wales, which is said to have formerly attracted the interest of the likes of Pierce Brosnan and Sir Mick Jagger, is back on the market.
The pub was purchased in 2002 by Morrissey who paid £670,000 for it, but the guide price has risen to £1.5 million and now includes the car park and adjoining house and land.
Poems and memorabilia including photographs and paintings belonging to Thomas will also be up for grabs as part of the purchase.
A spokesman for the Dylan Thomas Centre said he was sure the new owner would keep the hotel as it is: "It's very rural and quite isolated and that's part of why I feel there is no threat to Browns. It isn't going to be turned into a nightclub because there simply isn't the demand."
He added he was not worried about the lack of renovation: "Dylan Thomas fans like it there because it's still exactly the same as when he was drinking there."
