Igloo hotel welcomes first visitors

Hotels - 15/11/2006 14:03:30

Travellers visiting Austria this winter will have the opportunity to stay in one of the world's chilliest hotels.

Guests will be invited to stay in an igloo which has been made into a hotel suitable for 24 people in the resort of Kitzbuhel.

Surrounding the exotic hotel will be an igloo lounge, an ice church, a children's fun park, an ice restaurant and dozens of ice sculptures.

Opening on December 8th, the Igloo Hotel rooms will sleep from two to four people with overnight fees from €90 (£60) per person per night.

And before heading off to their cold beds for the night, guests can relax in the ice lounge, which will serve hot drinks and entertain visitors with a light show.

Creators of the bar say the background music, enhanced by the crystal-clear ice walls will makes guests feel as if they are sitting inside a huge dome built of ice.
