More people are investing in hotels and bed and breakfast properties so they can spend time with their families, new research has discovered.
According to a study conducted by property website hotelstobuy.co.uk, many future hoteliers are looking to invest in the hotel sector in a bid to become self-employed and spend more time with their loved ones.
Of the 3,000 prospective hoteliers and bed and breakfast operators polled, 65 per cent claimed that they were interested in taking on a hotel venture so that they could combine their work and home lives.
Celia Carruthers, director of hotelstobuy.co.uk, said: "Running a hotel or guesthouse has many benefits, especially if you have children.
"For example, time is no longer wasted commuting to and from work, so parents can manage school runs and families can eat meals together, rather than at disjointed times of the day."
But Ms Carruthers added that families need to ensure they give themselves adequate space to live within a hotel and to ensure that they reach a happy medium between work and home life.
