Hairdressers that have won the eighth annual British Hairdressing Business Awards have been honoured at a prestigious ceremony hosted by GMTV's Ben Shepherd.
The Royal Lancaster Hotel in London was packed out with industry professionals and judges who marked each entry individually over two days before electing which salons would be selected for the second round.
In some categories, a "mystery client" would visit the hairdresser to test the competitors and finalists of Junior of the Year, Manager of the Year and Business Director of the Year had to take part in on-on-one interviews with the judges.
Top entries in each category were then put forward to the next round of the judging which followed a similar method.
Winners of the prestigious competition, run by Hairdressers Journal International, were awarded an exclusive British Hairdressing Business Awards trophy inlaid with eighteen-carat gold.
Editor of Hairdressers Journal International Jayne Lewis-Orr said: "Dedication and commitment to excellence is something that has been shown by every finalist.
"All of the finalists represent the best the hairdressing industry has to offer."
The Hairdressing Business Awards first started in 1999 to raise the profile of the professional hairdressing industry.
