An online poll has revealed that more than 13,000 fans of Andy Murray have voted for the tennis ace to take a long-overdue trip to the hairdressers.
Scottish sportsman Murray, whose unruly hair has not seen a pair of scissors for over a year, asked his supporters to vote on his website as to what style he should get.
Despite the poll turning out to be a close shave, the final outcome revealed that most people wanted the 19-year-old star to sport a "short at the back, messy on top" style.
A hairdresser will do the honours on November 23rd when Murray's untamed tresses will be chopped for charity.
Murray said yesterday: "It's pretty mad so many people have voted on my next haircut, but it's cool everyone seems to have had some fun with it."
But one of Scotland's leading hairdressers, Charles Kivlin, of CK Hair & Beauty in Edinburgh, said Murray should go for the chop and get a grade four.
"I think a grade four is great for sportsmen. In Andy's case it would look the part and make people take him seriously," he said.
