Celebrities head to the capital

Celebrity hairdressers across London were booked-up yesterday afternoon as the capital's glitterati prepared for both the GQ Awards and the prestigious Mercury Prize ceremony.
The glittering GQ awards, held at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, was packed with the rich and famous including supermodel Naomi Campbell, Ali G star Sacha Baron Cohen and comedian presenter Jonathan Ross.
Sir Paul McCartney was named GQ Man of the Year, but he did not attend the event.
Billie Piper, who has recently starred in Dr Who, was named Woman of the Year while Big Brother TV host Russell Brand was awarded Most Stylish Man.
Justin Timberlake took the title of International Man of the Year, while Extras creator Ricky Gervais was named Comedian of the Year.
Meanwhile across town, the Arctic monkeys were enjoining a night of success wining the Nationwide Mercury Prize at a swanky ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel.
The group were awarded the Album of the Year for Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, which has sold more than one million copies.
