The world of graphic design has a new hero, after Welshman Dave Cornthwaite rolled into the record books by skating 3,000 miles across Australia.
The 27-year-old from Swansea has taken 90 days to push himself from Perth to Sydney, hitting top speeds of 35 mph and encountering blisteringly hot days and freezing nights.
He has become a minor celebrity in Australia, where regular news coverage has kept the population up-to-date with his progress and TV executives have offered him a guest spot on daytime soap opera Neighbours.
Nicknamed Crazy Pom, the graphic designer has claimed the journey has put his body under intense strain but that he has enjoyed every minute of it.
He said: "Blisters leave me in pain with every push and my body is cracking under the strain. But it's a wonderful way to see the country."
And he hasn't finished his journey yet, with plans to carry on another 700 miles to Brisbane already in place in order to help him reach his £50,000 target.
