Three Norwich florists have won the Gold award in the Flower Shop of the Year awards, it has been reported.
Two Petals Florist stores and Chloris Flower Shop are three of only 32 florists to be honoured and may be crowned the best in the country later this year, says the Advertiser.
Anita Lawn, general manager of Petals, told the paper: "Winning gold is absolutely brilliant - a huge motivational boost.
"And to be one of the top 32 florists is fantastic; everyone in the business has made a huge contribution. We have just got to keep on our toes now and we could go all the way."
The three florists were put through a number of tests to reach this stage including facing mystery visitors and telephone callers who would test the staffs' knowledge and sales ability.
Now the store owners will submit a final written entry covering every aspect of their business before being interviewed by judges about the future plans for their shops.
A £1,000 prize will be given to each winner in the categories of Flowergram, Interflora, Teleflorists and Independent Flower Shop of the Year, with winners and runners-up achieving the platinum award for excellence.
