FCoH ads to increase numbers of at-home florists

Florists - 10/11/2006 14:22:27

The Flower Council of Holland (FCoH) has launched a new advertising campaign to try and turn more of us into at-home florists.

The new campaign slogan "So Simple, So Try It" is aimed at simplifying the perception of flower arranging and the tasks of florists to try and encourage more people to buy flowers for their homes.

The ads features simple ideas of how to arrange flowers that are aimed at women aged between 35 and 54. This group are particularly targeted as the FCoH's research found that people younger than 35 tend not to buy many flowers for themselves.

The FCoH's research also found that once people get into the habit of buying flowers for themselves and their home then they usually buy around 20 bunches of flowers from their florist every year.

This could mean a major increase in the number of flowers sold by florists if the consumer potential is untapped.

The new TV adverts are ten seconds long and feature in primetime advert breaks on UK TV.
