Xmas bling not the popular thing

With the Christmas festivities currently in full swing, some homeowners like to decorate the outside of their homes with lights, but this has a negative effect on selling property, according to estate agents.
It seems that for some people, a Christmas tree and a few fairy lights are not enough as they turn their attentions to neon-lit Santas and reindeers and go for the Blackpool illuminations look.
Large stores such as B&Q and Homebase are now stocking American-style inflatables for use in decorating the exterior of the house and some streets in Britain are left looking like Las Vagas, an image that is unappealing to prospective housebuyers, says Warren Bright, head of propertyfinder.com.
"Christmas and the new year is a notoriously difficult time to sell as people like to be settled over the festive period," commented Mr Bright.
He added: "Sellers will have to be extra careful not to alienate the buyers who are still out there and over the top decorations are sure to put a lot of people off."
