Property prices in Bournemouth and Poole are soaring as families leave London to escape the terrorist threat, according to local estate agents.
According to local estate agents, property prices have increased by around 40 per cent in some places and with only a limited number of properties on the market in the Sandbanks area, development land is being sold at a premium.
Sandbanks-based estate agent Tailor Made has said that many potential home owners are also turning their attention to Talbot Woods, Boscombe Manor and the Portman estate areas with houses prices increasing there as well.
"Everyone seems to want new builds with the latest technology and are prepared to pay a premium for them. People moving from London because of the terror risk have more money to spend. Now our average client is willing to spend £1 million. Five years ago that was a rarity.
"There is a huge demand for homes from people wanting to relocate to this area because it is safe and well removed from the terrorist threat."
Estate agents have also noted that Bournemouth's burgeoning pub and club scene is bringing people to the area, with a casino on the way as well.
