Families left 'homeless'

Estate agents are desperately trying to find more property to sell after an acute shortage of new family homes continues to blight young families.
In a survey carried out by SmartNewHomes, 94 per cent of participants said they felt there were not enough new homes available for families to buy.
The survey was run as part of the SmartNewHomes campaign, which is urging the Government to review its planning rules to provide suitable housing for young families.
A massive 86 per cent of people asked said they were looking to purchase a typical family home and 72 per cent wanted to move within the next year.
But the majority of these potential buyers admitted it was a struggle to find a property which was suitable to house their children and partner.
Out of all the people interviewed 39 per cent were looking to spend under £200,000 for their next home, despite the average price for a house recorded as being around £254,374 in July.
