Estate agent pledges building will go ahead

An estate agent has promised that a housing development which is still under construction will be completed – despite rumours that the building company has gone bust.
The Hall Varley Homes development in Lancashire has not seen any work done to it in six months despite only being halfway to completion.
But a spokeswoman from estate agent Harris and Moss who is working alongside the construction firm says the plans are still on track and denied rumours that the company was suffering financial difficulties.
She said: "One of the partners in the company Mr Hall died a few weeks ago and the company is taking some time to go through probate. We have had a lot of calls about this, but the company is definitely not going under.
"There have been no builders on the site for a while, but work will be starting again as soon as possible."
The patch of land upon which the homes are being built has been a controversial issue ever since Kwik Save backed out of building a supermarket there. Since then, various plans have been made for the area but none have yet reached completion.
