A businessman from Warwickshire has scooped the title of eBay entrepreneur of the year.
Joe Williams, 26, from Moreton Morrell won the title and a £2,500 prize after just three months of trading.
The IT consultant took part in the eBay Business Sense Challenge which gave five contestants to start up a business on the online auction site from scratch.
The aim of Mr Williams' business, Laptop Scrapyard.idea was to recycle parts from broken laptops by selling them on to people looking to buy replacement pieces.
Commenting on the idea, Matt Priddle, eBay expert and competition judge, said: "Capturing the mood of the moment is essential to building a business and it seems that Joe's green approach to recycling computer parts has really appealed to the growing demand for more eco-friendly products.
"By recycling components and refurbishing laptops, Joe has secured high sales volumes and a feedback rating of 161.
"What also impressed us about Joe's eBay shop, Laptop Scrapyard, is the way Joe constantly had stock, gave the shop a personality, had very clear communication channels, but also, importantly, the business seems to be sustainable," he added.
