A start up company based in Denbighshire is competing in the final of the 2007 HSBC Start-Up Awards.
H20 Networks has developed a system called Focus or fibre optic cable underground sewer to enable any location to be link up by fibre optic cable at a lower costs than traditional cabling systems.
H20 Networks was founded two and half years ago in St Asaph and is now hoping to earn one of the top titles to further establish their position in the UK market.
The group has already secured contracts with a borough council, two universities and has received enquiries from Antipodeans, American and European companies.
"The current broadband challenges facing Britain and the current lack of investment present a great opportunity for H2O Networks," explained Elfed Thomas, the company's managing director.
"To reach the regional finals of the HSBC Start-Up Stars Awards is fantastic and is a reflection of the hard work and commitment put in by the team since we started two and half years ago," he added.
Fifty regional winners and ten national finalists will be selected by a panel of judges at the coming HSBC Start-Up Awards.
