Entrepreneurs and innovators based in Liverpool can enjoy business business support and networking tailored to their needs, thanks to i-start.
The scheme is designed to give those with big ideas a forum to learn more, pick up useful hints and tips and meet likeminded ambitious people to share in their enthusiasm.
More than 80 entrepreneurs from the northern city attended the launch of i-start and got to hear Ajaz Ahmed, the founder of internet service provider Freeserve, talk about how he made the company the largest in its sector in just three months.
Tony Hughes, from i-start, said: "There's been an encouraging response to i-start from those with a start-up business idea, to those interested in supporting young companies on Merseyside in the information technology and digital media industries.
"Our goal is to put promising start-ups and pre-start-ups on a fast-track growth route to market."
Law firm Gregory Abrams Davidson and business incubator Digitalinc are backing the i-start scheme as they claim to be a "big supporter" of entrepreneurs and want to see them receive effective business support and networking opportunities.
