Free business advice for ethnic communities in Coventry

Business Support and Networking - 04/06/2007 16:24:02

Entrepreneurs from ethnic communities were given business advice and an opportunity to network at a free workshop held in Coventry city centre.

Held at Desi Dish Indian restaurant, the event attracted over 50 small businesses - including entrepreneurs of Indian, Pakistani, African and Chinese descent.

Organised by Business Link West Midlands (BLWM), the evening offered firms the chance to access skills and support to help their business to success - with a chance to network, share best practice and find out more about the Business Link service itself.

Commenting on the event's success, Kul Sanghera, director of market development at BLWM said: "One of the new aims of our organisation is to make sure that we take our support to the people who need it most and do so in a way that appeals to them.

"This event shows a real appetite from the business community to look at ways of accessing expertise, in order to grow and boost their firms and this is something we want to build on.

He explained that more events of this kind were being planned for businesses in the neighbouring areas of Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Dudley in the future.
