First Threshers franchise launched

Business Support and Networking - 14/09/2006 11:55:12

A manger from Hereford will no doubt be looking for some business support after signing the first ever Threshers franchise deal, it has been reported.

Mandy Miles beat hundreds of others across the country to become the first official franchisee for the off-license giant, by taking over the running of her branch in Hereford, Franchise Magazine said.

Under a new scheme, managers who are already running Threshers stores are being offered the franchise for £100,000.

Ms Miles told the magazine: "I was offered a business that was up-and-running and already profitable - and the best thing was I knew it was successful, as manager here myself.

"This is about risk-free as running your own business gets. I couldn't have afforded to buy a successful business outright because it would have been so expensive, but the franchise scheme was brilliant.

"In truth, Threshers did all the hard work for me, but I am now my own boss and run the business as I want."

Hundreds of franchisees are predicted to take over Threshers outlets over the next few weeks in the scheme that aims to change 600 stores into franchises.
