Emerging company advice centre Business Link has introduced a new programme of business support workshops.
Funds from the Northumberland Strategic Partnership (NSP) provided by Regional Development Agency One NorthEast, have allowed Business Link to give start-up firms access to out-of-hours support.
The workshops are available online, covering the likes of bookkeeping, marketing, finance, business and the law and business planning.
Business Link hopes the new internet workshop programme help it hit its target of around 1,000 new business starts this year.
John Litherland, executive director of the NSP, said: "Enterprise is a high priority for NSP and we as a Partnership are delighted to give support through our funding."
According to research, firms which make use of business information, advice and support have a major advantage over those who don't, giving them more chance of lasting on the high street.
