Builders - 28/06/2007 16:35:30

The boss of a Stirling-based building firm has been announced as a finalist in the National Business Awards for Scotland (NBAS).

Elliot Robertson, chief executive of Manorlane has picked up a nomination for the accolade of Entrepreneur of the Year at the NBAS, taking place in September.

Manorlane specialises in building prestige middle market sector three, four and five bedroom houses.

Mr Robertson now has to impress the judges with a presentation in front of a panel of judges in July and battle it out with 14 other contenders.

Neil Laidler, from Orange UK, which sponsors the awards, said: "I am constantly impressed by the quantity and quality of the entries for the National Business Awards for Scotland.

"The entrants demonstrate enthusiasm and motivation to succeed and I challenge anyone who doesn’t believe Scottish businesses are at the vanguard of innovation and growth to meet with these finalists.

"All the finalists of the awards have shown passion, determination and originality - we wish them all luck in the final rounds of judging."
