Builders to improve travel facilities

Builders are set to start work on expanding the UK's airports after government officials reiterated their support for the scheme.
An Aviation White Paper released in 2003 called for additional runways to be added to Stansted and Heathrow and in a progress report to MPs, transport secretary Douglas Alexander has said that government is still committed to the plans.
The White Paper stated that Stansted should get a new runway by 2012 at the latest, with Heathrow set to get a short version by the middle of the next decade.
This has led officials at the Airport Operators' Association (AOA) to claim that passengers are sure to benefit from the building works.
Chris Goater, a spokesperson for the AOA, said: "There is…going to be, hopefully, something called Heathrow East which is where they will knock down terminals one and two and build new stuff there.
"Obviously, Stansted has also proposed some sort of expansion. I think that that's going to improve the service for passengers, of course."
Mr Goater added that expansion to airports would almost certainly help the UK and London cope with the increase in travel during the 2012 Olympic Games.
While you're home extensions might not be as complex and costly as building a new runway, you should still use professional builders, who can be found in our online listings.
