Builders discover ancient remains

A group of builders who were working on a housing development in Ilminster were shocked when they discovered human remains on their building site.
Police and the coroner's office were called to the area when the lads stumbled across the skeletons at a disused Sunday school.
It was discovered that the land on which the team were building was an old burial ground and the human remains were in fact, ancient.
Earlier this month archaeologists excavating a site beside London's Trafalgar Square found evidence that the area was also an ancient burial ground. More than 20 graves have been found in the area, suggesting that it is the site of a graveyard.
This site, just beside the church of St Martin-in-the-Fields, is believe to have been attached to a very early version of St Martin's church itself, which would make the location one of the earliest Christian centres in the country.
An even earlier grave was also found on the site which scientists say is likely to be very late Roman or early post-Roman.
