When we bought our 1960's house last October, one thing of which we were certain was that we wanted a real fire installed. We had both always lived in older properties and had become accustomed to this welcoming and warming feature in our homes.
This was our first experience of a 60's property and the chimney looked too small, there was an old backboiler and the hearth was non-existent, having for some years only housed an electric log effect fire.
We visited Green Man Stoves at their showroom one wet and freezing afternoon. What a treat! We were greeted by so many beautiful fires, many of them were roaring away in a true life demonstration that we had never before seen in a shop. We left there armed with ideas, brochures, an appointment for a home visit and best of all, warm hands and feet!
James visited us at home later that week. He measured, assessed, discussed, advised and most importantly of all, listened. He took the time to identify our individual requirements, qualify our criteria and respond to our many questions.
We are delighted with our fire. Every member of the team was courteous, friendly, approachable and particularly tolerant of our 'Sergeant-Major next door neighbour' who seems intent on upsetting all of our visitors!
Having first hand experience of a customer facing business, it is our personal view that it is easy to provide a good service when all is rosy in the garden. James and Nicola were in the midst of a particularly trying time when we first asked for their help. Their son had damaged his arms, their daughter had damaged her foot, they had no kitchen (nor any sign of the arrival of the new one) and a brand new puppy..... However, they didn't let this impact on providing an excellent customer service, a friendly yet professional approach and the efficient and skilled installation of a stunning woodburner.
