Carlton Hall Residential Home
Carlton Hall Residential Home in Lowestoft is a residential care home providing the highest level of person centred care in a friendly, homely environment.
Our mum has been resident at Carlton Hall for 2 years now and I thought I’d just put a few words down to say how much we appreciate all the help and kindness you offer Joy. Though she is getting more poorly in her health and mobility we as a family feel at ease knowing Joy is being cared for by caring staff who are quick to respond to her every need.
The home has a friendly and homely atmosphere and the food is of an excellent standard. Choices of food are offered at each meal time, either a salad or a hot meal. A hairdresser comes in once a week which sees the ladies looking even more lovelier every Monday. The chiropodist calls approx. every 6 weeks and regular nail painting brightens everyone’s day up.
There is something going on most days for those more active residents who wish to take part, even keep fit sessions are held. Special events in the calendar are celebrated, such as Halloween, Easter and of course Christmas. Regular mini bus trips outside are organised and the local church holds a strong link to the Home. It holds regular church services. Entertainers are welcomed in with ‘sing along’ afternoons. All community groups are encouraged and children from the local schools come in to entertain the residents.
The gardens and grounds are excellent and the grounds men/maintenance staff work tirelessly to keep everything looking prim and proper. There is an outside space for residents to sit and enjoy the sun shine and a walk way around the grounds for all to enjoy.
Family members are encouraged to get involved, with quiz and bingo nights and an annual fate takes place every year – obviously the raffle is there as a fund raiser at each event. Other fund raising activities take place throughout the year to allow both residents and their families to have regular get togethers. Monies raised are for the residents activities fund.
Management are very approachable and regular meetings with 3 monthly intervals are held with them. This is for residents and their families to discuss any grievances/fears or suggestions that they may have. I hasten to add management actually do listen. This is also an ideal time for the management to discuss any new improvements or upgrades/changes that may be happening to make the home a safer and healthier place to live.
The list goes on but on a final note, I on behalf of the family especially Joy, would like to say a very big thank you to all the team for welcoming her into the family at the Hall. We are more than happy, knowing she is safe in the hands of all the staff and would certainly not hesitate in recommending the home to other families looking for this type of accommodation for their loved ones.
Yours very thankfully
