Summer Shows, Flower Festivals & Bingo


	Hi There are a number of summer shows and events taking place over the weekend and forecasters predict hot summer weather, which will make the perfect accompaniment to family days out. Play some bingo this Friday at Chalkstone Community Centre in Haverhill to help raise money for Little Wonders Pre-school and win big cash prizes (based on ticket sales). You can pay on the door, the approximate cost of entry and books is between £10 and £15. It’s the Clare & District Horticultural Society Summer Show this Saturday 19th July from 2pm at Clare Town Council. Entries invited, classes include vegetables, fruit, flowers and pot plants, cookery, preserves, flower arranging and crafts and there’s also a section for children. Local groups and organisations raise funds and provide information about what they do during The Summer Bash 2014 this Sunday from 11am until 5pm on The Recreational Ground Haverhill. There’s music from the Haverhill Youth and Community Band, a car boot sale, stalls, entertainment, displays, refreshments and much more. Next Thursday 24th July, there’s a Flower Festival at Abbey House Bury St Edmunds where "Reflections" will transform the Cathedral with over 80 floral displays, depicting key themes from the last 100 years. Visitors will be able to enjoy the displays, refreshments and shopping whilst taking in some of the architectural achievements which have turned St Edmundsbury Cathedral from a simple parish church into the magnificent Cathedral it is today.
