The Very Early Lunch Club is a business networking club which was set up in Cambridge in 2004 to provide business support and networking opportunities for local businesses in a relaxed and welcoming environment. It now covers the Newmarket area.
The aim
The Very Early Lunch Club is to enable local businesses in Cambridge and Newmarket to meet, build trust and develop lasting business relationships with other decision makers from a broad cross section of industries.
When do meetings take place?
Breakfast meetings usually take place on the first Friday of the month at Anglesey Abbey, Lode, between Newmarket and Cambridge. The meetings occasionally move to avoid key holiday periods, etc.
Who attends the meetings?
Attendees are likely to be business owners or directors, business development or marketing managers and other key decision makers from a broad cross section of industries. We do not limit the number of representatives from one industry because we believe that each business is unique.
How will the group develop over time?
We want the group to grow The Very Early Lunch Club to be the premier business support and networking club in the Cambridge and Newmarket areas. This is to include business people from all sectors desiring to grow their businesses, including professionals, large and small business Iowners, sales people, executives, managers and non-profit representatives.
Please remember to invite guests to attend because increasing the size of the group will ultimately mean that each member of the group should be able to find suppliers, clients and business allies amongst the group.
What is different about the VELC?
• We don’t charge a membership fee.
• There is no requirement to attend every meeting.
• If you can’t make a meeting you don’t have to send a substitute.
• You can bring guests along at any time.
• There is no obligatory referral scheme – referrals are willingly offered.
