Welcome to the first in our new series of TALK ART classes - the BIG KNIT WORKSHOP - a one day starter class with international textile artist Ingrid Wagner

This is the 21st Century for handknitters! On this workshop you will be able to:

Learn about multi strand knitting
The use and control of colour
Try out alternative materials which you may not have considered knitting with before
Get to grips with the use of bigger needles
Create a couple of pieces of Big Knitted fabric by the end of the day to use in whatever way you want
See examples of Ingrid’s Big Knit collection for the interior

Dates: Saturday 01.03.08 or Saturday 31.05.08

Time: 09.30-17.00

Places are limited to 12. Early booking is advised.

Skill level: You only need to know how to cast on and off, and knit in plain and purl. There are no complicated stitches. It couldn’t be easier or more fun. If you are a complete beginner, don’t worry. We’ll teach you all you need to know. If you are an experienced knitter, Big Knitting will give you a new challenge.

Materials: A wide variety of yarns & additional materials will be provided. Needle sizes used in the workshop: 400mm & 600mm length, 25 diameter. Please note that these will be available for you to buy, if you wish, at the end of the day.

Workshop fee: £75 included lunch, refreshments and materials.
5% discount for students, 10% children under 12.
