At our Network evening on 4th June at Neath Rugby, one Neath business picked up a contract for £30,000 by just being there. Who would turn down that opportunity!

These are some comments about our last one on 24th September.

Nigel, can I just say a big thank you for organising such a great event. I had a great time and met many new faces and managed to get more work than I was expecting. Your organisation skills are second to none and your enthusiasm is infectious, and I think everyone caught the "best of bug" from you last night! Why be part of the Best of Neath Networking?

The Best of Neath supports and promotes the best that Neath has to offer, the best businesses in Neath, the best places in Neath and the people of Neath.

The Best of Neath networking evenings are held at Neath venues, every 5/6 weeks where Best of Neath members have the opportunity to meet local like minded Neath businesses in a relaxed and informal setting.

The Best of Neath Networking is the place to be seen for Neath Businesses. Our evenings are attended by over 80 local businesses. The format of the evening is simple yet effective:

  • 7.00pm Welcome, introduction and notices
  • 7.10pm Informative 10 minutes presentation by a local Best of Neath member
  • 7.20pm Open, structured networking task to gain contacts and referrals (Buffet, Snacks)
  • 8.20pm Presentations
  • 8.25pm Members and Guests prize draw
  • 8.30pm Formal close, open networking

Does it Cost to be part of The Best of networking?

Best of Networking is FREE to Best of Neath members. Guests are welcome and can attend one complimentary evening FREE before joining the Best of Neath.

Why would I want to be part of The Best of Neath Networking?

If you are a Neath business, or a business that does business in the Neath area, then you really need to be part of and recognised as one of the best in Neath. These evenings are a way of:

  • Increasing your profile in the Neath business community
  • Building lasting relationships with Neath businesses
  • Meeting Neath businesses that can help and support your business
  • Form alliances to help grow your business
  • Establish referral partners within the Neath area
  • Gain business as a result of being there
  • Just enjoy good company

As a result of these evenings many Best of Neath businesses are working and supporting each others business. The list is endless.

La Creme Patisserie, Affirmation Photography, Helen Rosser Hair, Media Eclipse, Neath Rugby, Craig y Nos, Trellis Confectionery, Rhos Meadow, Sure Drive, Paul Coles Butchers all have established links and use each other services in a variety of ways to help support and promote each other.

How can I place a value on being part of The Best of Networking?

Each person you meet could be your next client, each person that he/she knows could be your next client. The power of word of mouth is priceless!

One business at our last Networking evening at Pontardawe Golf Club met a person who didn't require his services at that time. Within the week 4 new clients and business was passed as a result of that conversation.

Havin missed two Networking Evenings due to business commitments, we made it to Wednesdays meeting at the Blue Bell Hotel, It was great to see so many businesses present, and we were able to meet several with whom we have now placed business with for Clothing, Advertising and Printing. We had many leads on the night and are hoping for some work from other members. The evening itself was well organised, well presented, and a credit to Nigelsʼ organisational skills. We are looking forward to our next meeting.

I must say that you are one of the most enthusiastic Best Of members, being very proactive about your businesses, Utility Warehouse and contributing so much to the Best Of. You really use all the tools, asking your customers to give you reviews, attending the networking evenings and contributing so much to other members businesses. I have your information that the Utility Warehouse is the best utility povider in the UK according to an article posted in Which Magazine. Having been to many networking events in the local area, I can honestly say that The Best of Neath networking evenings are the best! Nigel runs a great evening from the welcome down to the final prize draw. He will introduce you to other Best of Neath members giving you great new contacts and leads. He knows everyone in the room so if you are looking for a lead or introduction he will get you talking to the right person. Canʼt wait for the next one.

Networking should be central to all local marketing plans because you donʼt need to cold canvass as much: you already are building up relationships of knowing, liking and trust. Networking can bring in more than business: it brings in other connections to help you meet your goals. And the BEST OF NEATH does more. Iʼve found the people I meet to be like-minded and focussed so there is an opportunity to talk about issues. Nigeslʼs events are a great social event too. So Iʼd say to any member, make the most of these events and if youʼve not attended make the effort and surprise yourself. Youʼll find great company thaʼll make you feel at ease. Even if you donʼt like most social occassions these will change your mind. These are almost as good as my Local Business Networking events (!!) so Iʼll see you at the next. Hi Mike, We try and make the Best of Neath networking evenings the best around in terms of building relationships, business and of course the social side. These evenings are for the members to really get to know the other members to increase business in the local area. If we all help each other, then all of our businesses will be doing better. Word of mouth is the best possible way to gain new business and it just got louder with the Best of Neath. Mike runs a local business network in Neath and Swansea and these are really good as well. Why not come along?
