Little Steps nursery school and childcare facility is now open and providing quality nursery education and day care to the residents of Neath and the Swansea Valley. Karen, who owns Little Steps, is an experienced early years specialist teacher who was previously Head of the Pre-Prep Department at St. Michael's Independent School in Llanelli. Her philosophy is to treat all children as individuals.
At Little Steps, the nursery school and day care sections follow the same philosophy in that the activities focus on creativity, independence and social interaction. The children are guided to explore for themselves and the belief is that the wide range of skills experienced are greater than that of a predetermined end product. This philosophy is a forerunner of what is being introduced into mainstream education with the 'New Foundation Phase for Wales, starting in September 2008.

Tanya the Centre Manager, Lianne, and Danielle all have nursery and childcare qualifications to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 while Sharon the nursery assistant has 13 years experience in the early years setting.
